I am an Australian living in Nashville Tennessee, working for the State of Tennessee as a HR Technician. I am also a Numerologist at Portals Numerology.
Born in the 60's, raised in the 70's, blossomed in the 80's, mothered in the 90's - experiencing, seeking, learning, loving and writing about it all!
Now - from the oh-oh's and beyond - it's time to lay it all down and share it with the world. Through fiction, non-fiction, articles, poetry, blogging, drawing - whatever genre and platform, it's time to blossom again! I want to be the wild goose in the home-stretch, finally free to express myself and to continue learning, loving and helping others do the same.
Believe it or not - these stories are semi-autobiographical, as I "suffer" from sleep disorders and have experience with astral projection. I drew on my wild fantasies, dreams and hypnagogic hallucinations to weave these stories together into one tale - about a woman who discovers that she may not be as crazy as everyone might have her think.
My articles have been published in Llewellyn’s Almanacs, such as the 2011 Magical Almanac, 2012 Witches’ Spell A Day Almanac and the 2013 Herbal Almanac.
At the beginning of 2014, I set myself the goal of finishing my first novel, and I completed "Delwyn of the Realms" on the 27th December 2014. During each fifteen minute break and lunch time, every day at work, I was hammering at my laptop and scrawling in my notebook, or reading and researching. On the way to and from work, I was listening to audio books, for ideas and to educate myself on the topics included in my novel, as well as on the process of writing. It started off as a memoir, but the idea didn't sit right for me.
I had an idea that I had been throwing around for a long time, in the form of a Young Adult story, that I wanted to put more effort into. Then I discovered all the annoying rules that come with writing for a Young Adult audience, which include things such as issues with swearing, drugs, sex and horror. I thought, “Well, that leaves me out!” So I decided to change the protagonist to an older person – a thirty year old woman - so that it would be reasonable for her to have had the experiences in the story at her age, but not being too far away from her teenage years.
I love the Beat writers - especially Ginsberg, Kerouac and Burroughs. Angela Carter is divine! Love Anais Nin and Henry Miller, H.P. Lovecraft, Kafka, Neil Gaiman, Caitlin R. Kiernan - and the setting of this novel wouldn't have had half it's magic without Enid Blyton. I lost myself in "The Magic Faraway Tree", "The Enchanted Wood" and "The Folk of the Faraway Tree", while staying at Maffra - in my Aunt's house - at her mysterious farm!
Kate Bush, Tool and others completed the scene by providing the soundtrack, and my imagination filled in the rest!
